State Champ!

| March 12, 2020

TC Christian’s Hunter Haldaman went the distance at the MHSAA State Bowling Championship at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing last weekend, emerging as the State Champion.

Hunter started the morning session qualifying for the afternoon bracket play by finishing 2nd overall. In the sweet 16, Hunter defeated Muskegon Western Michigan Christian’s Senior Gabe Gauthier 412-325. In the Elite 8, Hunter faced off against Jake Schultz from  Grass Lake High School. It was a tough match-up and Hunter needed two strikes in the 10th frame to have a chance. He rolled 3 to seal the victory and move on with a score of 409-401.  In the final four, he knocked out Aaron Stephens from Breckinridge High School 427-391 to move into the Championship game. Hunter wasted no time, rolling a 216 in game one to take a 49 pin lead and he didn’t look back eventually winning 404-373.

Congratulations to Hunter, our first State Champion bowler.
