Middle School: A Time Of Transition

The move from Elementary to Middle School is a big one.  Students have seven class periods a day and begin learning how to move between classrooms and teachers.

Our Middle School students are not simply taught math, science, and English, in order to pass a test.  Teachers explain the theory of a given subject, connect that subject to historical and Biblical events, and include ‘discovery learning’ projects and hands-on application to help the students master the subject.  These Biblical Throughlines form the backbone of the TC Christian education experience.  A Bible/Homeroom course allows for more questions and deeper learning experiences.  In 8th grade, students have the opportunity to earn their first high school credit and also have their first experience with exams.  This ‘Step Up’ year is designed to help them succeed as high school students.

Curriculum

Our curriculum consists of a planned, systematic series of activities and experiences in which we use proven texts and materials to pursue our goals for each subject. We pursue solid academic competency for our students in all subjects. We also teach, in the context of each subject, about God’s character and the principles of His Word. We use every opportunity to develop the student’s Christ-like character. A unified Biblical world view is our goal!
