“I know our daughter JoJo (Makowski) was a stand-in for the Christie grandchildren presenting the flowers to their grandparents, but she is also actually the niece of Coach Christie’s longest standing athlete, my brother Jason Send. Her Uncle Jason played on Coach Christie’s varsity soccer team for five seasons from 2006-2009, as an 8th-12th grader. We didn’t realize she was going to stand in until she was out on the court with a bouquet, but I couldn’t help but think how special that was! How cool that the “stand-in” was actually the niece of his longest standing former athlete! I thought that was a really special happenstance.”
