Our Story
In 1995, a group of parents felt called to offer Christian education to families in the Grand Traverse county area. They formed the Traverse City Christian School Association and established a high school for grades 7–12. Initially housed in a vacant church on Keystone Road, the high school soon outgrew its space, leading to the bold decision to build a new facility on 40 acres of farmland on Emerson Road, a significant step in size and vision.
In 2010, an elementary school founded by Church of the Living God formally merged with TCCS and relocated from the church building to the current site, creating a Pre K – 12th grade school on one campus.
Today, Traverse City Christian School remains the region’s only non-denominational Christian school, welcoming students from over different churches and nurturing their unique gifts to serve God. The school stays true to its mission of fostering academic success, strategic thinking, and biblical discernment, preparing students to lead with courage, work diligently, and impact the world for Jesus Christ. TC Christian’s story is a testament to faith-driven growth, rooted in “His Story” of purpose and service.
