How To Apply
Looking for the best private Christian school for you and your family?
At Traverse City Christian School, we want the same things you do for your child — a strong start in life, an excellent education, and a desire to bless and serve others. We’re educating Christian leaders for life, and we want to partner with parents in this important work.
That’s why we’ve designed our admissions process to give families a chance to become familiar with our facilities, our staff, and our Christ-centered approach to hands-on education at TCCS. We want to get to know your family as you learn more about our school and decide if we’re the right partner in your child’s education.
Four Easy Steps To Apply & Enroll At TCCS
o be considered for acceptance at Traverse City Christian School, all applicants must complete the entire application process as follows:
Step 1
Review Our Program
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to download our Parent Information Packet. Inside, you’ll find an overview of our program and how our school culture aligns with your family’s values. It’s also a great resource and tool to generate questions to ask on your campus visit.
Step 2
Schedule A Tour
Schedule a tour of our beautiful campus, meet our teachers and staff, and experience our school culture for yourself. If appropriate, scheduling a shadow day and/or any assessment testing for you student can be discussed at that time. Tours and shadows are the best ways to determine if TCCS is the right fit for your family.
Step 3
Apply Online
If TCCS feels right for you, we have a simple online application we will send you following your visit. It’s very straightforward and we’re more than happy to walk you through it. Please fill it out as completely as possible. This includes:
- Applying for financial aid (if applicable)
- Academic documentation as detailed in application (incl. report card, IEP/504 Plan, academic assessment, etc.)
- Medical documentation as detailed in application (incl. immunization record or waiver, birth certificate, Pre K health appraisal, etc.)
- Child custody authorizations (if applicable)
Step 4
Complete Enrollment
You will receive an email with your admissions decision. If accepted, you can officially enroll by completing your packet and submitting your enrollment fee.
We accept applications throughout the year, but families are encouraged to apply as early as possible because our class sizes are limited.
When applications for enrollment at TCCS exceed board approved classroom capacity, accepted students may be placed in a wait pool. Please note that this is a wait pool (as contrasted with a wait list). Accepted students will not be offered enrollment on a “first-come, first served” basis. Accepted students will be offered enrollment as space becomes available based upon the following priority hierarchy:
Priority Hierarchy
- Children of Faculty, Staff, and Alumni
- Siblings of currently enrolled TCCS students
- New applicants
It’s always our goal to enroll as many students on our wait pool as possible. While we can’t guarantee a seat will open, we do encourage you to start the application process to be considered.
If a seat opens for your child, we’ll contact you via email as soon as possible to move you forward in the application process.
We encourage you to start the application process with the understanding that your enrollment decision may not take place until a later date. Please note: Enrollment is not guaranteed for applicant students placed in wait pools.
