Bowlers Wrap Up Superb Season

The Sabres bowling team topped off a very successful season with a great showing at the MHSAA Division 4 bowling finals last weekend in Taylor, MI. The Sabres qualified for the bracket finals by finishing 7th in the qualifying round. They never dropped below the top 8. Their performance included Baker games of 200 and 193 and a team game of 897. In the quarter finals the boys took on a tough Jonesville team. The Sabres lost the best of 5 Baker roll-off 3 games to 1 but didn’t go quietly losing game 1 by only 5 and, facing elimination bowling a 211 Baker to stay alive for one more game.

In Saturday’s individual finals, Josh Millward represented TC Christian fantastically. Josh finished the qualifying round in 7th place; averaging 208 for the six games. In the sweet sixteen he continued his great bowling, defeating the 10th seed from Hudson 401 – 348 in the two game match. Josh’s 25-26 season ended in the elite 8 as he lost his match to a Detroit Loyola bowler in a heartbreaker 389 – 386. Three pins kept him from the semi finals. Outstanding season, gentlemen!
