Conference Champs!


What a season it has been for our Sabre Bowlers! At last Friday’s Conference singles tournament, the Sabres absolutely shone, with two bowlers cracking the top 10 and one of them claiming the ultimate prize. 8th grader, Sawyer Skoog, qualified in 7th place with a stellar average of 175 across the day. Highlights included powerhouse games of 195 and 206. Way to represent, Sawyer! Junior, Josh Millward (pictured above), emerged as the undisputed Conference Singles Champion. Josh dominated from start to finish averaging an incredible 219, including three games above 230. Congratulations, Josh, you are a deserving champion!
The momentum carried over to Saturday, where the boys varsity team delivered a commanding victory as Conference tournament champions! They left no doubt about their supremacy, finishing a whopping 89 pins ahead of the second-place Striking Tritons. Key highlights included two Baker games that broke 220 with a sizzling 229 and a solid 224. The boys worked well as a team proving why they’re the ones to beat. What a terrific to the Conference season! Well done.
The weekend included additional highlights with Josh Millward and Zack Wheat being named to the Conference Dream Team , while several young bowlers reached significant milestones: Hayden Johnson (10th grade), Teddy Rynbrandt (8th grade), Addie Beltrame (8th grade), and Reagan Wheat (10th grade) all bowled personal bests. The future looks bright for Sabre bowling.
Looking ahead, the boys varsity are geared up for the MHSAA Regional team and individual tournaments in Alpena this weekend. Let’s rally behind them – Go, Sabres!
