In Memoriam

Earlier this week, TC Christian received word that one of our substitute teachers, Julie Westrate, had passed away.

Julie was our “regular” substitute for many years throughout all grade levels. We could always count on her being available in a pinch. She had a huge heart for Traverse City Christian School and the students who attended. Julie would often be seen in attendance at various extra-curricular activities supporting and cheering on our students. Julie was a selfless servant who had a heart to share her love for Christ as a part of the TC Christian community. She was a blessing to our school community and will be dearly missed.  An obituary with visitation information is here.

In honor of Julie’s life and her ministry at TC Christian, school will be closed tomorrow (Friday, April 30), in order for staff, students, and parents to attend her funeral.  Please lift up Julie’s family and friends in prayer as they deal with their unexpected loss.

Elementary School Yearbook 2021

As is our custom, each year the Elementary school produces a special yearbook showcasing the school year as seen through the eyes of our junior Sabres.  This is a fun keepsake for the whole family and sure to bring a smile for years to come.

Orders for the Elementary yearbook can be submitted using THIS GOOGLE FORM! Please follow the directions at the top of the form. If you have any questions, feel free to email Faith Erickson.

Orders will be collected through May 14.

Campus Close-Up: Why I Love TC Christian

Campus Close-Up: Grace

We caught this class of Sophomores pausing to pray over their lunch. At TC Christian prayer isn’t the exception, it’s the heart.

Campus Close-Up: Creation Keepers

The TC Christian 5th grade class enjoyed the beautiful spring weather by planting sixteen trees on our school campus!  The pink and red flags you encounter as you drive to drop off and pick up your children show where the saplings are planted! The 5th grade students have been working hard to be “Creation Keepers” by learning about and taking care of our environment and ecosystem! Thank you to Director of Facilities, Brad Williams, for heading up this adventure!
