A Foundation In God’s Ways

| May 17, 2019

“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts… They shall speak of the the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds…” Psalm 145.4,11,12 ESV

I believe in Christian education. This is good, not only because I happen to be employed by a Christian school, but because Christian education happens to be God’s idea.

You believe in Christian education, too. You’ve prayed, searched, and sacrificed so that your children could have the best education you could give them– and you’ve chosen to trust TC Christian with your students.

I think God is glad with your choice, too– not because He doesn’t like public schools (many of God’s warriors are public school teachers!)– but because I think TC Christian gives students one priceless treasure that no public school can offer: a true story.

Today’s culture has removed the foundations of truth and eternity from its conscience. With no meta-narrative, no “big picture” story, to stand on, life loses purpose and meaning– and so, in many ways, does education. However, that’s not the case at TC Christian. There, your students are not only being given a foundational education, but a foundation for their lives that cannot be shaken.

God’s desire is not only that we would teach our children to remember fractions and state capitals, but that we would teach them to remember His story of redemption and salvation, and teach them to see it in every area of their lives. This past February, we hosted eight students during Win-Term week. We got to share with them God’s kingdom, power, and “mighty deeds” being done through our partnership with TC Christian. It was an honor and a privilege to get to be a part of that, knowing that as we worked and laughed together, we were actually telling our part of God’s story to the next generation.
