Being The Difference

Oswald Chambers, the noted Christian author and evangelist once said that prayer does not prepare us for the greater work…it is the greater work.  At TC Christian, prayer is a fundamental.  Period.

With that in mind, the Senior class and Student Council each year make it their mission to personally pray for – and with – the TCCS faculty and staff.  That effort culminates in activity we’ve seen over the last few days.  Students ‘invite’ themselves into classrooms and offices in groups of twos and threes.  There they present to the staff member a booklet filled with affirmations written by students throughout the school.  Those affirmations aren’t generic.  They are personally prepared for that particular staff member and recount observations, sayings, encounters, favorite characteristics, and appreciation for that staff member.  Then they pray for that person.  It is, at once, moving and humbling and joyful to receive such blessings from the students.  As this year’s school theme exhorts, Be the Difference! (Eph 2:10).  These students are!
