Mission-Based Reading

| October 16, 2019

It’s back, and earlier this year! The Elementary Student Mission-Based Reading Program is open to all elementary students (K-5).

Mission-Based Reading is a tiered reading program based on grade level and provides an opportunity for your child to “earn” a Bible through successful completion of various reading assignments.  Those Bibles are then presented to the Senior class to distribute on their mission trip the week of November 18.

In the last 20 years, we’ve sent thousands of New Testament ‘Journey’ Bibles to places as varied as Russia, Guatemala, Belize, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Mexico, Belize, and Haiti.

Each elementary school parent and teacher will be tracking the progress of their students during the week.  Details are being sent home with your student in their weekly folders, and Mrs. Thalman (Elementary Librarian) will explain the program in more detail in chapel on Monday, Oct. 21st. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

The program will run from Monday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Oct. 25th.  Let’s see how many Bibles we can send this year!
